Do Leadership Evaluations

We can believe that we are great leaders, but if the employees and colleagues don’t think so, we probably are not.

Do the people you work with think you are a great leader? There is only one way to find out, and that is to ask them.
But you have to allow them to be anonymous to make sure they will answer honestly.
Who should you ask? Everybody! Then you will get answers from all different levels. I am talking about people that report to you, colleagues, and your bosses. It is also good to answer the same questions yourself, and compare the answers. The answers could affect your ego, but it is an effective way to find out how you really are as a leader, and very valuable for your personal development.

Here are some suggestions on questions you could use:
How do I work under stress, in your opinion?
Do you think I am open minded to other people’s opinions and suggestions?
Do you find me fair and that I treat everybody equally?
Name 3 of my strongest sides.
Name 3 of my weakest sides.
What do you think I am doing well?
What do you think I should improve on?
Do you find me as a good listener?

You can make up your own questions to find out exactly the areas that are important to you.
The most important rule when doing this is to never try to defend yourself, but instead, listen to the answers and learn from them.

Good luck!
